Bruce spent four years in the Navy, serving during the Middle East Crisis in Beirut. Once he left the Navy, Bruce worked in the marine industry and then started work as a tow truck driver doing heavy duty recovery. He took one of his trucks to a show at a local chrome shop and ran into a member of the AMF Offshore Racing team and found out that there was a job opening. SHortly thereafter, Bruce ended his 14 year towing career and started his racing career.

Bruce's hobbies include boating, fishing, outdoor activities and conservation.
