John, The more I think about the direction you are taking the sport the more I like it. I have been around offshore racing since I was a child. In 1977 there were 14 national races with destinations in Miami, NJ, Michigan, California and parts in between. Then Norskog took the Pacific out of the equation. Then there was the APBA melt down, the rise of SBI and U.S. Offshore, APBA’s rebirth under Alweiss, its collapse after OSS, the rise of OPA, the APBA / SBI merger. All this fractionalization is killing the sport. Showing up at races with 1 or 2 boats per class is terrible. The “United We Race” program is just what the sport needs. I know that egos will always get in the way, but in sports, just like in business a successful plan will be followed. Sometimes it just takes time to prove it a success. To that end I would like to be whatever help that I can be in your efforts. With your permission I would like to place your “United We Race” logo on my boat for the rest of the season. I think that a program like this will put the fun back in racing and maybe we can have 40 -60 boats coming to all these shows. Wouldn’t that be great! Let me know what your thoughts are.
