I am originally from Johnstown, Pennsylvania, a graduate of Dale Borough High School and I attended the University of Maryland. I entered the U.S. navy following school and I found I loved being around ships, boats, and salt water so I decided to remain on active duty for 24 years then retire. My service took me around the world, on 14 different ships, duty at the American Embassy, London, England; an Aviation Staff in Keflavik, Iceland; tours of duty with the navy Seabees in Vietnam and more years than I can care to remember in Washington, DC. I received many awards, the highest being the Navy Meritorious Service Medal. Following my retirement from the Navy I worked as a Lobbyist on Capital Hill in Washington, D.C. I served as executive Vice President, NCO Association; President, Society of Corporate Meeting Professionals. I was employed by the Inter-Continental Hotel Company and the Adam's Mark Hotel Company for 15 years in various Hotel Management positions.
I was approached by John Haggin in 2004 to assist in starting AMF Offshore Racing. Together, John and I started the “AMF Dream” and it continues today. As the Director of Operations, I work 24/7 to move AMF forward to new levels. The aim and goals of AMF is to make power boating a family orientated sport that encompasses all power boating enthusiasts across the United States , and soon around the world. AMF is John Haggin's legacy to the sport and I trust I will be fortunate enough to live to see the dream come to pass.
